Flood vs. Voyageur

and on a serious note...

The flooding in the Duluth area had people evacuated to the Carlton High School, which happens to be the start and finish of the Voyageur 50 Mile. Then Carlton flooded and the people had to be moved again. You've seen some of the photos, unless you live in a cave. The famed swinging bridge on the course in Jay Cooke State Park is gone.

Me (behind Ken and his beard) in 2009

The remains of the bridge.

What an incredible header photo. I would like to hear the circumstances under which Ron captured that!

That's just unbelievable! What a disaster. It has been sickening to see the pictures from up there.

I've been watching it, and it is so awful. Amazing the power of nature!

Ran part of the course today. It can be revived, though it will take some time and may look a bit different in places.
