Beginning of a Great Adventure

Today's title is taken from a Lou Reed song.

"Some gibbering old fool sitting all alone drooling on his shirt
some senile old fart playing in the dirt..."

I figured out what I want to do and I'd tell everyone, if I thought there was better than a 1 in 50000 chance of my achieving it. It's time to start training again, time to show people what's possible, even with "career-ending" injuries - time to aim too high, fall short and have people marvel at what was accomplished in the failure.

Running hurts. I just have to accept that. I've managed to improve dramatically in the past couple of weeks, but that's improvement from "I can't walk, I can't stand, I can't even sit."

Now I have a goal. It's a doozy. And it's time for my second run today.

I so relate to the i can't even walk mode. Your goal is inspirational to say the least...i wish you well in this journey. I, too, have set a lofty goal..another 70.3 event...i suppose i have 2 choices...to go on or not. There is still a strong inner push of some kind that drives the "go on" choice and so i will.
