Where I live and train

Almost every weekend there's an event at Lake Walkathon. Today was the MMRF (Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation) 5K and I decided to snap a few photos, as I waited for things to clear enough that I could go for a run and not be in the way. My house is at the 1 Mile mark, across Lake Phalen from the start and finish. Each year, I look for Don, whose blog detailing his running while being treated for multiple myeloma is an instant cure for my complaining and finding excuses not to run.

Pre-race meeting

Shortly after the start

Seconds later, the first runners separate

Leader, 15 seconds ahead at 1 Mile

Kirt Goetzke (right) does more than 100 races per year

Don; dark blue shirt, middle of pack

Rather pretty for a city park, isn't it?
