Run It shouldn't be news, but I went for a run. The last wave of pain washed over me like it was breaking on the shore and I couldn't see another on the horizon, so I tested the waters. Slow, not far, yet hard work. Bent under burdens visible only to those who look, I struggled through the crowds of fair-weather runners, decided it's time again to cut off all the hair (can't donate to Locks of Love any more - too gray - but I'm closing in on the dreaded bald guy with pony tail look), listened to the familiar sounds of unidentifiable bird calls and found myself working as hard as I could to keep from just standing still.
Razz Someone needs to stop Niecy Nash. Never heard of her until recently (and I follow stand-up) and now I saw her on four TV channels at the same time. She's like fingernails on a chalkboard to me. Make her go away.
Rave Ted Leo's coming to town for a concert this weekend. This guy's going to save pop music. "Shake the Sheets" was his best album, but the new one, "Brutalist Bricks," coming out tomorrow (though "Even Heroes Have to Die" got released as a single in December), is pretty dang good. If you like your pop with a bit of punk energy or you want your punk to have some catchy hooks, check out Ted Leo and the Pharmacists.

"Someone" needs to stop Niecy Nash? What's up with that, SteveQ? Too important to do our own "disappearing", now? That's what's wrong with this country, Minnesota in particular - we outsource everything. Time was, "Killed in the USA" meant something.

"Killed in Minnesota" used to mean something, too. Specifically, it meant you were watching Fargo. Before that, it didn't mean anything.
Don't be rash. Keep the ponytail, gain 100 lbs, and change your name to "Comic Book Guy". There are always preferable alternatives to getting a haircut.

I have only seen Niecy Nash in "Reno 911." Yeah, I am not a fan, either!
Good to hear you were able to go for a run. And yes, the fair weather runners are out in full force! Great to hear so many more bird sounds now that the weather is improving!

I'm usually one who will speak up to disagree with someone before I'll speak up to agree.
Nonetheless, I felt the need to agree with your assessment of Ted Leo and the Pharmacists.
Great band. My fave song is Me and Mia. Even Heroes Have to Die always reminds me of the Bangles' Hero Takes a Fall. That is a high complement indeed.
