Grab bag

The rumors appear to be true - Wynn's moving to Montana later this year. The new Chippewa Moraine blog has Adam and Matt joining in; if they take over race management, the race will be in good hands next year (and the beer will be awesome).

I was asked about the name of this blog, since I've been thinking of changing it. It actually came from a cartoon. There was an episode of "Pinky and the Brain" where their plan to take over the world was to change labels of shampoo bottles so they read "Lather. Rinse. Repeat endlessly." giving them time to take over while people were busy shampooing. Last year, I sort of raced endlessly, so it was an inside joke just for me.

How're the injuries? The hand is pretty good, actually. The broken finger's not quite right and can't tolerate cold (oh like it ever gets cold here), but I can use it almost normally. The leg injuries are better and the right knee's okay as long as I'm careful.

Unfortunately, training's not going well. I keep quitting early, exhausted for no reason. And I'm plodding when I do run, so I'm not expecting to do much at races this year. I've picked my races for the year, 9 of them (but still about 500 miles!), and I'm focusing on just 2: FANS and Lean Horse. I won't decide whether I'll do the 12 hour or 24 at FANS until late in training (possibly the day before the race).

I'm hoping that the continuing tiredness I've been feeling is just due to having gone from 168 to 156 lbs. in four weeks. My first ever diet's essentially over... and now I'm thinking about giving stuff up for Lent (and no, I wasn't raised Catholic).

best cartoons:
1. Looney Tunes
2. Jetsons
3. He-Man
4. G.I.JOE
5. Pee Wee's playhouse, not technically a cartoon.
