Just a little inconvenience

Went out to the brickyard hill for a final test of all equipment. After an hour, I fell.

I'm typing left handed now. I broke my right index finger, tore ligaments in my hand and severely sprained my wrist. Wouldn't want Superior to be too easy!

Not calling it quits just yet. I see the hand surgeon Wednesday.

How the hell did you do all that falling on a trail? Bring a roll of duct tape and I'll attach your handheld to the cast Friday morning.

You could always use a stick from the fair to make a splint.

I did something similar during the 50 mile. Holding the water bottle with a strap around my hand, I fell and landed on the bottles with my hand opened and my hand rolled away from the bottle and broke the middle finger. Never have run holding a bottle again... Were you holding a bottle?

Oooh... ouch! I predict this won't set you back.

Hmmmmmmm, this might be a blessing in disguise: running with a busted hand will probably get the entire lower half of your arm throbbing, which will require you to power walk instead of run, which will in turn prevent you from going out too fast, which will increase your odds of finishing the darn thing.

Wishful thinking.

Hope everything turns out OK!
