Starting from Scratch

Supposedly, on Thursday I'll find out that I'll be having surgery and my year's running is over. I expect that something will interfere with that - something always does. In case I'm stuck where I am, it's time to make contingency plans. I can't heel-strike; power walking (and therefore 50&100 milers are out). I can't run trails. I can't make the sharp turns on a track at speed. That's definitely limiting my possibilities.

Here's my recent training to show just what I mean by starting over:

June 3-9: 0
June 10: 3 in 26 very severe pain
June 11: 1 in 8.5
June 12-14: 0
June 15: 13 trail - bad idea.
June 16-29: 0
June 30: 1 in 8.5 Rough
July 1-3: 0
July 4: 3 in 27. Very stiff
July 5-10: 0
July 11: 6 in 53
July 12: 0
July 13: 6 in 54.5. Difficult.
July 14: 4 in 37.5. Tired.
