I'm too ill today to say much about yesterday's race. I lost 15 pounds to illness in the weeks before the race, but went in with high hopes. I started well, but developed diarrhea an hour into the race and had to make "nature calls" every 20 minutes until I called it a day at about 12 miles and jogged to the turn-around, where I dropped out.
Everything I eat today passes through me in about 2 hours, just as it did before - and during - the race.
I don't foresee how I can stay healthy enough to train, let alone race from here on. I'm done.
Can any other sport do this?
