Brief Health Update

I've got poorly controlled asthma and poorly controlled allergies, so I've been pretty miserable of late. Today my one-side-stuffy-one-side-runny nose felt like it was finally going to clear. I blew my nose and a gusher of blood came out, so I applied pressure for five minutes, which is usually enough for a nose bleed. It didn't work, so I applied pressure for a full ten minutes while sitting with my head bent forward. Still didn't work. I pinched my nose tight and packed my face in ice and waited 15 minutes. Still bleeding, so I had to go to urgent care. It stopped bleeding during the drive (of course).

Anyone have suggestions on how to clean bloodstains out of car upholstery?

btw, wish Helen a happy birthday today.

Wow, no one has yet left a comment re: how to get blood stains out of upholstery?

I'm surprised because I figure your blog must be pretty popular among axe-murderers and you gotta figure those guys know a thing or two about removing blood stains from all kinds of fabric.

@G: Newbie. Just bleach or use hydrogen peroxide to destroy the DNA evidence and then move on. And no one uses axes any more; they're hard to conceal or explain away.

Have I said too much?

Your own saliva is a good blood stain remover.

I suppose, depending on the amount of blood, this could mean you may need to figure out a way to produce copious amounts of saliva.

Oh yeah - know about the allergy/asthma bit.

I just take an antihistamine year round and when i get the (now typical) mid-winter flare of asthma go on a maintenance inhaler for a month or two till things calm down.

So... that said - hope you are in contact with a medical professional who can prescribe those things and help you monitor those conditions.

Oxygen deprivation on that scale is exhausting and just leads to other issues.

Wow, Steve. You really need to get healthy...

(as if you didn't already know that, but I cringe when reading your continued accounts of prolonged sickness...)
