Back to having fun... at last!

If you hadn't noticed, my running the past two weeks has been improving:

June 8: 0
June 9: 0
June 10: 0
June 11: 4 in 34 (sneezing, coughing, wheezing, puking)
June 12: 4 in 39
June 13: 5.5 in 51
June 14: 5.5 in 50
June 15: 5.5 in 48
June 16: 6 in 50
June 17: 3 in 27
June 18: 4.5 in 41 w/ 900 feet of climb
June 19: 7.5 in 66
June 20: 7 in 61 (1 in 10, 6 in 51)

Even on the best days I was still a minute-and-a-half per mile behind where I'd like to be and the mileage isn't exactly what one would hope for my running my last 50K in two weeks. Still, I've been enjoying running again!

The retirement plan

I know what I want to do now, but I'm not ready to spill the beans entirely. There's something only 5 guys in the world my age have done (as far as I can tell) and I haven't done it in more than 25 years. There's maybe a one in a million chance... but, if I don't try, there's zero chance. It's keeping me entertained, I've started running a bit better, so it's all for the good.

The first step is to get back into something resembling "in shape." No racing for me until then. Excepting, of course, the Afton 50K, which I plan to be a jogged "victory lap."

Good to hear you're having fun again! Your next plan has me very curious, can't wait for you to spill the beans.

Maybe you were just in a slump, like your Twins. And maybe now that you're getting over your injuries, you're coming back, like yours Twins.

Is the big news that you're going to DH for your Twins?
