The Goal Is Set, The Die Is Cast, The Cliche is Written

I was kvetching about there being no real goals between just finishing and winning at the Superior 100. I should've looked at the website; since the last time I tried to run there, the race has added a master's category, so the goal is simple: win some hardware. That's a challenging goal, especially since Chris Hanson turns 40 this year and he's done the course in 27 hours (Dallas Sigurdur and Matt Patten also turn 40) and, if Andy Holak finally breaks through his mental wall at that race, he could win it outright. Brent Bjerkness did it under 26 hours, as did Scott Meyers.

Suddenly, yesterday's first run in shorts and t-shirt of the year (6 miles in 50 minutes and a balmy 50 degrees) seems much slower than it did just a day ago!

... the third "is" doesn't get a capital "I"? What- d'ja run out of capitals?

40 seems sooooo young to me these daze ... isn't that little nub of umbilical cord still typically attached to the navel at that tender age?

in other news ... Speaking of hot librarians, a recent episode of Community revolved around two of the characters lusting after the same hawt librarian.

It's an occupational hazard.

Depends on what your definition of "is" is (thank you, Bill Clinton)!

Thankfully, your observation re: "is" blew my mind only, rather than what Monica blew.

Any goals prior to Superior? I don't know about you but I have trouble staying motivated for a goal 6+ months in the future without interim goals to pull me along ...

Good luck with your buildup; hope to see you around sometime!

I guess you're the first person to look into Chapman since Keats First Looked Into Chapman's Homer and wrote a sonnet about it, which sonnet went, in toto, thus:

Sucks.

No, wait.

Sucks ass.

It was more review than sonnet, which is good because as a sonnet?

It kinda sucks ass.

btw, I haven't stopped reading (or writing) about Shakespeare; I'm just adding incrementally to my Vast Shakespearean Dumping Ground post, as I said I would.

But no one is reading it, which is exactly how I expected it would go.
