I did WHAT?

I just volunteered to pace Pam Smith at Western States! Guess I should check to see when that is... [June 26]

And considering I have to do something stupid to jumpstart my training: the Brickyard Hill 6 Hour Challenge will be this Saturday. $1 entry fee, winner takes all.

...................

People are taking the run seriously and I'm not sure if the hill's even runnable right now! I'll be there at 9 AM (it's cold; I start late). The record for most times up and down the hill in 6 hours is 28, done by me last summer - that's 22.5 miles. I expect to do much less than half that Saturday.

How to get to the Brickyard hill: In St. Paul, take Plato Blvd. to Water Street and follow along the river. Just before the old wooden trestle (where the road becomes Lilydale Rd.), there's a parking lot on the left. 1/4 mile on the trail and you're at the base of the hill.

Top of hill approach: there's an opening in the fence at the intersection of Annapolis Street and Hwy 13 (Cherokee Blvd.), right at the city border. 1/4 mile along the trail is the top of the hill.

There's no aid. Or bathrooms.
...........................
And, if you're new to this blog, I apologize for the comments on this so far.

If I stop by and pay the $1 can I feel good about not doing it?

Thanks for the spelling correction, I actually suck big time at most things in life and spelling tops the list. Blogger hid my spell check from me ... so I'm screwed.
