I've "run" the Pikes Peak Ascent 4 times and can testify that only a handful of competitors truly run the entire way. The altitude stress is simply too much. There times when I dog trotted behind others who had a very efficient power walk stride and often as not they left me in the dust. Everyone has a transition point where walking takes less energy than running but actually goes faster. Practicing how and when to shift gears is a good idea.DCShttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03125613995070496696noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2796785757974247915.post-34752377202720595332010-06-23T17:52:12.048-05:002010-06-23T17:52:12.048-05:00All often does this happen.

It is so cool if you don't have it. Anyway, I found The Sound of Sunshine. Ahh, I love perfect songs for the season and the year. And it is a nice birthday present. Thank you.

Your blog post makes me think of this 29 year old Danish girl who just won the 24 hour run on Bornholm. She came out of nowhere to break the course record. She had only once run a marathon and never trains long. Her name is Helle, of course. Just kidding. Her name is Anne Marie Geisler Andersen. She ran over 200 km.

It is interesting that the people who know most about training for long ultras are the ones who do the worst. I'm not pointing fingers. An exception is the 100k record holder Kenneth Munk who really seemed to do his homework.

Anyway it was an interesting post.sea legs girlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14782712411873234071noreply@blogger.com
